Silicon One and Why Cisco Builds Its Own Chips

Silicon One is Cisco's in-house networking chip family — the unified architecture that now powers 40+ platforms and underpins both the new Cisco 8223 router (51.2 Tbps) and the latest G300 switch silicon (102.4 Tbps). For technical candidates, understanding Silicon One signals you grasp Cisco's deepest competitive moat. For non-technical candidates, it's a window into how Cisco competes against Arista, Juniper, and Broadcom merchant silicon.
